I think Kris done this and weighed what all he took out. Jmunk, weight matters, if you add up all the little things it comes out to a pretty nice number. eventually you take enough things off you will knock quite a bit of time off of your 1/4 mile time.

Your NOT going to gain half a second by removing the back seat, cargo covers and the sound deading material. All together you might gain a 1/10 of a second. If your looking to drive a gutted car so you can gain a few tenths than you should just get a car and devote it to just racing...i don't know about you but i don't like to hear all the road noise in my cars, thats why i leave the interior intact, plus the facts that all my cars are Honda's and not race cars.

I agree with jmunk. You're just gonna ruin a good street car. If your gonna auto-x just go street prepared and leave the interior in. If you wanna go racing for real, get a go kart (real fast) or a car someone has prepared already (not as fast).

Even if you took a half second off your quarter mile time , it's still damn slow and boring. I'll bet it wouldn't cut 1/2 second anyway.

I have a vehicle (Samurai) with a stripped interior. It's damn noisy inside. It's very easy to clean out however. Just use a garden hose!!

People are always thinking about weight reduction on the car....maybe they should do some weight reduction on themselves if they're that worried about going a few tenths faster. I wish i could just clean out my car with a hose.

I wasn't sayin that just gutting the back of the car could gain 1/2 second. I was just saying if you do a bunch of different weight reduction, it will all add up. And I don't think I need to diet, I only weigh 130 lbs, 140 at the most. I try to gain weight but it don't work at all. But you do have a point there.

dude stripping your car in the quarter mile is worth it. you'll never know how fast you can really go if you dont. and every tenth of a sec. is HUUUUUUUGEEEEE. in the quarter mile. if you think not, then you must not go to the track often. even a few tenths of a second could seperate your car from a low15 second car to a hig14. you never know. plus its fun to strip it and drive it like that. try it who cares what these guys think sounds like they dont know much anyway about this topic. trust me it will help you.
