520i HUNTING ON TICKOVER

1990 520i HUNTING FOR IDLE WHEN YOU FIRST START THE CAR THEN TICKS OVER AT 1200 RPM.TICK OVER IDLE SCREW LOWERED SO TICKOVER 850 RPM BUT REV COUNTER NEEDLE BOUNCES FROM 500 TO 800 ALL THE TIME.PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN
