Insurance
I am thinking of getting an E36 m3 soon and was wondering if the claims of the insanly high insurance were true. i expect it to go up, but the way that people are talking it would like double or triple.

hi, can't speak for texas; but here in NJ insurance is one of the reasons i am selling my M3. i'm 32 and have an immaculate driver's history ( plus various driving & safety schools) and my insurance on a 97 M3 is $2000 a year. to me this is high, considering the NEW cars i could insure for half as much (Audi A4, WRX etc). dunno if thats any help to you or not...

In the Atlanta area our insurance is as follows.
3 drivers, 2 are 56, one is 19. All with perfect driving records and no moving violations of any type. All autos for personal use. M3-$1300 a year (2003) C5-$900 a year (2000) Blazer Extreme-$2600 a year (2001) Interestingly, if our son was not on our insurance both the M3 and the C5 would enjoy a $400 per year (each) reduction in insurance. |
