Which would you get?

Well i was just thinking? Which car would you rather get? A 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V or a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T Spyder? The Sentra is brand new with all the options, like around 19,500 g's. And the Eclipse is around 15,500 with 45,000 miles? Hmmm???

It all depends on what you are looking for in a car. The Nissan is new so if any thing goes wrong, it will be covered under the warrenty, its a good every day get from point A to point B car. Now if you want to build your own street racer go with the eclipse, there are more after market parts for it, not to mention the sentra has @ 175hp, but only puts @146hp to the ground, if not for the limited slip I wouldnt want to even think about how slow it would be. So like I said it all depends on what you want the car for.

Well I think it all depends on what you are looking for in a car. They will be about the same speed, with the spec-v coming out a little faster (people have hit 15.0 stock in spec-v's, fastest I've seen from a gs-t is 15.3 or so, but correct me if I'm wrong). If anything breaks it will be under warranty on the spec. If you are only going to do some slight modifications to it (new air filter, exhaust, etc) then I would go with the spec-v. If however you are planning on spending several thousand $'s in mods, I would go with the eclipse because it will take to mods much better (because it is turbo) and most of the warranty will be voided on the spec-v anyway after that many mods.

Whatever you think, you can have your dumb sentra cause I sure don't want it, have fun getting smoked. Real performance cars should have more tourqe then horsepower or at least the numbers should be close.

Are you really that stupid?
That car is there as a joke, I found it online somewhere and thought it was funny, so I stuck it there. I did not, nor do I want to, ever do that to a vette.

On another note, the SE's hp and tq is within 5 of each other, and the spec-v has more tq than hp. Do a little research next time...I also never said that my sentra was a performance car, and besides, where in the hell does some fantastical guide to cars say that a "real performance car" has to have more tq than hp? Would you consider a modded supra or a skyline "real performance cars"? Because neither of them have nearly as much tq as hp when you start upping the performance.

and I'll take my lowly sentra over your firebird anyday, I don't care if its slower

All i have to say sr20de, is that there is no way your picking up chicks with mullets in a sentra. Man, mullets and 89 firebirds, life must be a dream for that guy.

I will make this real simple now pay attention, claimed crank Hp 175, claimed crank torque 180 lb-ft, dyno tested, that means the truth not just what nissan tells you, because they want you to buy their hunk of junk, 146 Hp and 154 lb-ft of torque. So yes, I was wrong I can admit when I am wrong it has more torque then hp. But there is No way a stock Spec-V can do any better then 15.4 in a 1/4 mile. And one last thing can I have a pic of you so I can post it cause I think you are a joke.

well you apparently are so intelligent, so I would think you could figure out a way to get a pic of me, its not that hard.

and heres a nice page for you to look over, notice PlanoSER got a 15.09 stock, FastSpecV got a 15.20 stock, and AgentBook got a 15.49 with a BASE se-r (165 base hp, 175 base tq) stock. Also notice Z24andGT who got a 14.88 with just a CAI.

http://www.b15sentra.net/forums/show...3&pagenumber=1

and you are right about the power, Nissan does inflate the base power figures to get people to buy the car, either that or the spec loses 18% in the drivetrain, which is a little high for a fwd econobox.

You just keep playing that def lepard record and dont mind me. Geez buddy, who ruffled your mullet today. I think you are really getting upset here. Its alright man, its just a forum, you need to chill out and listen to your scorpions 8 track. You'll feel better once you have a 40 of old english and play some air guitar to your favorite Anthrax tune. No but seriously, loosen up your rediculously tight black jeans kick off your really old black high top sneakers and give me a big old toothless smile....... see isnt that better.

Having an 89 firebird may mean you can drive faster than me, but unfortunately it also means everything else about your life sucks. Not to fret my friend, one day you will evolve with the rest of us.

Now you can reply and tell us how tough you are and by all mean unleash some more of your witty remarks.

HA HA HA!!! Gary is funny!!!

That was awesome... I just remembered how crappy the 80's were.

Moral of this whole story is... No matter how fast your car is.. there is always some old ugly one that is faster.

Good thing 0-60 times aren't the only thing that matter. There are other things like style, appearance, utility, reliability (and warranty), performance (cornering, braking, etc...) and features like power windows and locks and keyless entry and nice audio, and, and, and....

But, there are a lot of people who like and appreciate 80's cars also. You just won't find many of them in the Nissan Sentra forumn.

"can't we all just get along?"
