Rear windshield wiper

Does anyone out there have schematics for the rear windshield wiper for a 32 R? Mine does not work at all so I was wondering where the wiring runs through and what fuses.

Have you been on the downunder site, and used their search engine? If not, give it a try.

That is a good place but I don't think Brendon has uploaded much technical information. A club member has written a huge amount of technical information. I will see what I can dig up at his site also.

If not I will probably have to try and type bits out here.

I would check the fuses on the underside of the dash on the right hand side. Start there. If none are blown it could also be the relay switch. If you have access to a multi meter check the wires at the motor.

Here's the deal with the fuses if any one has the same problem in the future. If your power mirrors work then your rear windshield wiper should be getting juice. Why they wired it up like this I am not sure. I will be writing up another line for the fuse box as soon as I get it interperted today.
Another problem that I fixed with the fuse box though. If you have an ABS light and your power steering went out at the same time. Check your ten amp fuses. For a quick solution.... Now that I have that fixed up I miss the feel of no power steering. With slippery conditions it seems easier to control slips slides and skids..

Here's the fuse box layout for the 32 R if anyone ever needs to figure out what goes where, straight from an interpreter:

TOP(from left to right)

4wd/electric parts/ transmission control/ blower motor/ wiper/

engine control/ fuel pump/ audio/ air con./ mirror, rear wiper/ cigarette-

lighter/ Fog lamp/

Bottom(from left to right)

Anti Skid/ starter signal/ hazard lamp/ shift lock/ tail lamp/ air con./

meter/ turn signal/ electric parts/ stop lamp/ room lamp/ rear defogger/

Thats the basic translation, some of these things are self explanitory others well your guess is as good as mine.

If you don't have any blown fuses then I would say it is one of three things.

cut or burnt wire to the wiper motor.

Bad ground.

burnt out wiper motor.

You will need to remove the upper cover on the wiper motor ( a real pain the arse to put back right) and check it. You will need a test light to verify there is power to the wiper motor.

If there is reground it to the shell somewhere to see if that is the problem. If not I would assume from there that there is a direct issue with the motor itself. I could be burnt out or wore out.
