Smile BMW M3 models

Hi everyone! I've been looking at this forum for a while but this is my first post! I will be putting up photos of my recently completed Audi Quattro as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I was wondering if any of you have done the Revell M3 model and how does it compare to the Dragon M3?

Welcome! I think both those M3's are the same model boxed by two companies.

Have you done one of these kits before? Are they reasonably accurate? I've never done a revell kit before so i have no idea. I'm really keen to build a 1/24 scale M3 as this is one of my favourite cars.

If you do a search there is a beautiful red dragon M3. The only problem is that the windows didn't fit right. I have the post on my other computer. I didn't even know Revell made an M3 kit

There is a Revell M3, but I think Veyron is correct in thinking it is the same as the Dragon. Here is one on Ebay (I hope it works)

Veyron has built one, it's a decent kit, his looks great. The body on them does look slightly narrow to my eyes. I have the Revell BMW Compact, also a Dragon kit, and am sort of working on the M Coupe, also a Revell-boxed Dragon kit.

I wish the new M3 were available as a kit...only available in diecast

My hobbyshop had some of those M3 kits, (on the ebay link), last time I was there. They seem to be the only revell germany kits they have...

That red M3 does look good but the shape doesn't seem very accurate. The line on the model is quite curved whereas in reality it is almost perfectly straight.

Still, it looks like good putty! With work, you can make it perfect! I have the Dragon kit and like it alot. The glass is definitely the weak part and I will replace the windows with clear acetate. Also, make your own "B" pillar and flush it with the body.

I'll build the kit once I buy a 1:1 M3 within a year.

Same kit basically, only the Dragon includes self adhesive felt for carpets and window masks. Neither item is included in the Revell G release.
OTOH Revell G has better quality control, I've seen several Dragon kits with warped A pillars,
one even had the A-pillars completely collapsed into an S-shape. Revell G checks and retains faulty kits for spares (Abteilung-X) rather than shipping them.

HTH,
