Bastos Peugeot 206

Here are some shots of the Bastos sponsored Peugeot 206 from Catalunya 2001. Base kit is the Tamiya 2000 Team 206, which wasn't the best choice as lots of silver bits (that are white in the 99 kit) needed to be sprayed white - but I had a spare kit, so to save money....

The kit is pretty much straight out of the box. Decals are from Studio 27 and, apart from the (usual?) issue of Studio 27 decals not bending around curves very well, the decal kit is very good. Wheels are not right (thought I'd get in first RallyRaider), they should be the 16(?) spoke jobies that come as an option in the latest Tamiya 206 kit - so I will eventually replace them with the correct wheels.

Pots.

Just for the record the wheels on this car should be 11 spoke Speedlines But who cares? (Okay I do - but I'm seeking professional help to sort that out )

Renaissance and Reji make some resin Speedlines but they are pretty ordinary. The Reji ones are slightly better, since 2 out of 4 of the Renaissance ones I have aren't even round!

I don't know... It is too hard to decide! Maybe all of the above or maybe something completely different like a sportscar.... a 905?

I have a yellow 206WRC on my future projects list. It's the one Timo Salonen drove in Rally Finland 2002. Don't hold your breath while waiting to see the finished model, I'm awfully slow builder..

I had to take that picture from a website, because the original link wa too long. You can see more great pictures from Rally Finland 2002 at http://www.ilkansivu.net/NesteRally2002/page_01_fin.htm

And BTW, that 206 looks great. Red looks much better than the normal silver:flash:
