I've also notice that while driving the car seems to hesitate than goes while stepping on the gas. It only does it sometimes but the idle problem seems to be ocurring more frequently now..

it sounds to me like you have a vacuum leak..i would check all your vacuum lines..there should be 2 little poumps on the drivers side firewall..check the line going to those pumps and the lines going to the throttle body..it is very thin rubber hose.

I've just been told that it could be the Idle control valve plus the fast Idle control. But I had this problem before on my Accord and it turn out to be the fuel Injection. p.s. Does anyone know where I cant get some quality parts cheap for my 1996 integra?

its not the idle control valve or the fuel injectors...if it was either of those the car would always be idling funny..

I have a 96 also and mine feels weird to me. Um I found a site that has alot of Acura parts...http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.net .
I have my little Haynes manual out and it says: Engine lopes while idling or idles erratically... 1 Vacuum leakage 2 Leaking EGR valve 3 Air filter clogged 4 Fuel pump not delivering sufficient fuel to the injection system 5 Leaking head gasket 6 Timing belt and/or pulleys worn 7 Camshaft lobes worn or Engine stumbles on acceleration... 1 Spark plugs fouled 2 Fuel injection system faulty 3 Fuel filter clogged 4 Incorrect ignition timing 5 Intake manifold air leak Ok that is what the manual says might be wrong so maybe that will help you figure out your problem.

Hi thanks for the quick response.. I just got my car back from the Honda shop and the said it is the Idle air valve (Idle control) and the fast idle control (Idle speed). Both parts are expensive. should I seek a second opinion because this is my first dealing with this shop?

My girl friends 94 ls had the same problem when you start the car it would idle like 2400 rpms and drop to like 1000 and jump to 2400 . it would keep doing that until the engine was completely warm. If this is what your car is doing then it is the fast idle control valve. I replace hers with mine off my car and it fixed the problem. So her dad bought one for it and no more problems!
P.S my factory acura service manual said to check that. You should check into getting one it is so much better than the crappy haynes IMO.

Cold start- my 93 teg LS starts at just about 2000 and drops within 10 minutes to a norm of about 600.
I had it once jump around on me for 2 minutes, back in July... last time. no more problemos
