Becoming an ASE certified mechanic...
Hey all, does anyone know what it takes to be ASE certified? I heard that one of you guys is....

I think all you really have to do is take this test and if you pass you are certified, you don't even really need to go to school for it. But I suppose you need school to teach you those things if you just don't do tons of work on various cars.

Yeah you can take the ASE test every fall and spring. Heres the address of the website so you can get registered to take the spring tests.

to become ASE certified you need to have 2 years of Job experience.
i recommend going to a tech school first, cuz they usually count for one year of experience, plus you will learn alot even if you think you know everything. Some Major schools out there are UTI, and Wyotech, but im sure there are smaller schools in your area.
