Japanese magazine shows new "Skyline Coupe" beat R34 in slolom!

I was in a Japanese book store today shopping for a used car trader, when I spied a car magazine with the new 2 door Nissan Skyline coupe (Ininiti G35 Coupe) on the cover. The article was written all in kanji, but there were some great pictures. The most interesting series of pictures was the runnoff between a new Skyline Coupe, BMW 3 series, Mercedes, and an old R34 Skyline GT-R.

The slomlom pictures showed final kph for all the cars and the new Skyline coupe beat all the cars including the R34 GT-R! Unfortunately from the article I could not figure out what was powering the new coupe. My guess would be the same engine as the Infiniti G35 as it looked identical except for the Nissan badging.

Another point of interest was the article showed a series of still frames of each car taking the same corner at high speed. All the cars except the new Skyline coupe showed noticable lifting of the inside front wheel. The slomlom pictures also portayed the Coupe as looking more stable with less body roll, even when compared to the R34. This is very promising, especially if Nissan builds a new GT-R on this platform! If the G35 can out handle the R34, then just imagine the potential of the next GT-R!

Al,

Cool info

I will never afford the new G35, but at least you know Nissan is improving the Skyline, maybe not in looks. The R32 is the best looking by far (Me Biased of course)

Very interesting.

YOu should buy that mag and scan the article. I'm sure some one around here can give us some idea of what they are talking about.
