I want to do a swap on my Integra. My Accord is manual and I miss driving it! My friend has an automatic in his Accord, but said he can't swap it out because of something with the way the undercarriage of the car is...I guess it is different? Ever heard of that?

never, but i havent looked deep into swaps yet since it wont be any time soon. i dont know how its done, but i already know of a shop that can do it for me. i know someone that had a 91 4dr. w/ h22, manual conv. and turboed, so i know its possible. but thats the easy part, all i need now is 4 grand.
what did you want to swap into the integra? c1/c5. and what happened with your accord? i remeber reading somewhere youre getting work done on it, was something wrong or just fixin it up some more?

i have heard both ways on the whole auto to manual conversion, with slightly more negative than positive. i still argue on the side that its a bad idea. there are too many little things that will most likely go wrong with it in the long run. it seems easier to just get another car that has a 5 speed in it, you may even make some money from it. autos usually sell for more than a manual. its expensive and labor intensive just about anyway you go about it. if the lude tranny will bolt up to everything else, i say go for that. with the level 10 in there, it should make the drivetrain sap about as much power as a 5 speed anyways. all you would lose is the fun of driving a manual. personally i would sell the auto you have now, and look for another accord to move everything you already have to. then you could go on with a motor swap, knowing that the car is equipped for another manual transmission already.

either way i go, is it usually best to use the prelude tranny?
and i know i'd be losing out on the fun of driving stick. but in the long run, i know id get tired of it and want the convience of an a/t. if i couldnt find an a/t motor, id most likely get it converted to fit. since powerwise, like you said, itd be about the same with a level10 in there, i'd be happy.

I'm fixing the accord up more. I still have it...that is my kid.
I am not sure what tranny for the Integra, I just want to go manual. The Accord is more important right now...but the Integra will get the swap eventually.

i was lookin around on ebay the other day, just for random stuff cause i was bored. and i saw a buddyclub kit on a black accord, and damn it looked nice. hella makes me wanna get one, eventhough i always told myself id never get a kit. theyre just way too common these days. ok, thats all, gotta take a shower now. im so damn lazy on my days off

Going adjustable, redoing the interior, I have always wanted a sliding ragtop, and other stuff. Kits can be ok, but everyone has them now.

the prelude manual tranny has shorter gear ratios so it will keep you in vtec longer when you shift, so go with that if you go manual. as for the auto, i dont know about the ratios in that. i would assume that they are shorter, but i dont know how much, if at all. hopefully someone else will know about the autos.

i dont know that one. sorry.
i know the manual bolts up, the a/t has never come up as far as i know. i dont know if that tranny could even handle a motor spinning that fast.

I'm pretty sure you can't use your stock tranny with an H22a. Anyway the tranny comes with the h22a when you get it. As for your battle over manual or automatic, go manual. No question if you ask me. I'm getting ready to do a swap myself. I'm just working myself up to spending that much money. Here's a good site where you can get a H22a for a fairly reasonable price. It's not the Type s though. Type s's are like $4000. 20 extra ponies. I'm getting the regular H22a with the lsd tranny.
