Used Engine Importer Question
Anyone know of a decent Japanese engine importer in the Seattle/ Tacoma/Everett area? It's not for my 4G but for my Samurai. The motor started making evil noises and is now having oil pressure issues. It's gonna let go soon. I just wanna swap in a used lump.

Yeah Ami they do. It's a cute little all aluminum 1300cc SOHC thing. There's more Samurais all over the world than you can imagine. We got very few here. They even still make them. I'd just rather get a motor locally than have one shipped from out of state.

when i was looking for an engine i found a plce in your area. i can't remember the name of it but i remember seeing it in the used/recycled parts section at hasport.com.
lol, i know nothing about suzuki...sorry my world revolves around honda/acura & air cooled vw. all the different 4th gen people i have talked to are all different people. it's pretty cool to hear about all the different kind of cars they also own or are into. http://thesamba.com/vw/index.mv is an extremely addictive vw site. i can't go into the classifieds for type 3's anymore. i'll be there for hrs. and i always end up seeing sweet ass type 3 notchback's, 64-67 type 3 squarebacks, and split window bugs have you tried www.nippon-motors.com? they aren't in WA but they are the biggest out of CA.

I've got a history with VW too. I worked at a VW shop for a couple of years while I was at tech school. I worked on race cars there too.
I still work on VWs once in a while. My buddy has camper bus with an incredible motor (type IV). That's the last one I worked on. |
