Project Mach 1

This is my current project, a revell 70 boss 302. Been a blast to build so far, I have high hopes for this one.

Are you going to have the "blacked-out" hood? Anyways, what color is that? Engine looks like a lot of work been put into it, Good Luck!

The boss 302 is usually yellow with a black stripe that goes along the hood and splits down along the sides of the car, they also have shaker hoods (which revell didn't even include in the kit) Since the replica wouldn't look very accurate, I'm just building this up as a modernized mach 1 and Boss's are very hard to come by, so I'm building this up to see what kind of 70 mach 1 I could maybe build in real life, as this is one of my fave top 3 muscle cars which I hope to own and modify one day. I shaved off all the emblums and cowl vents and wipers. Of course, it will be lowered. Color is a duplicolor met blue, once finished I'll take some pics in sunlight and it should look fantastic. This is one of those muscle cars that look incredible smoothed out and slammed on modern rims.

Rims and seats are indeed from the revell mach 3 concept, good eye!

Thumbs up Nice Pro-Tourer!!

Pretty darned cool!!:bandit: I'm almost finished with a similar concept involving a '69 Mercury Cougar Eliminator so I look forward to the completion of this model! Awesome work so far! If all goes well, I should have pictures up by tomorrow afternoon.

Car's one of my favorites
Not to keen on the wheels....i beleive that these classic's need to have there original wheels or later style rims. The modern look doesent suit them in alot of cases IMO

It is coming along nicely from what I can see its a shame Revell didn't include clear plastic pieces in the kit for the side indicators (well, they didn't in mine anyway )

I agree with you, but as you said in a lot of cases it doesn't, but in some I think it does, Mainly 5 spoke mags look good on the 1970's cars (especially the RX-3, RX-4 and RX-5 ) .

That's because you are crazy

I love lots of classic cars, but I usually hate 2 things about them: The ride height and the wheels/tires. Old rims are always all gross and heavy, don't let you see the discs and have ugly high profile skinny tires.

I love these rims on this car! Something like torque thrusts would probably look better, but that's too overdone.

Actually, the shaker hoodscoop was an option on the Boss 302 (and several aftermarket companies have resin ones). What's in the box is prototypical of the '70 Boss 302 and you can build a very accurate replica. Also there were several color options inc. Grabber orange/yellow/blue, Gulfstream Aqua (white stripes), Calypso Coral and some kinda green (also with white stripes) ;-)>
hth,
