flickering lights, sluggish start up
my alternator went out on our 1997 yukon. It was repaired but now, when attempting to start , sometimes it will not start until the second or third time. But when it does start, the interior dash lights flicker a few times. When the alternator went out, a good samarian tried to jump start it but the jumper cables melted and was disconnected quickly. Everything worked great before the alternator problem. Anyone have an answer?

I would start by taking a look at the battery connections if this did happen.Usually the cable ends melt but if it has a delco battery it may also have a leaking terminal corroding the positive cable.
