Exclamation what mods do i add to my car?? help~!

one of my dream cars is a civic hb dx with an ls vtec or crvtec... what are the best basic mods to add on?? give the brand or a more cost-efficient alternative (ie.. type r lsd as opposed to a kaaz lsd)..which should i keep stock?

what are the best ::

intake
exhaust (not too loud, preferable dual)
header
throttle body
intake manifold
ignition
computer
clutch
flywheel
axles

would i have to upgrade the fuel system also? and if so with what?

Man, to start off with, u need to get some air available so u cna go from there. AEM is by far the best air intake u can get. ITs got a special coating so the pipe doesnt heat up from the engine heat, so ure sure to get some cold air into your Vtec powerplant.
Then u can get an exhaust, headers, straights through cat (make sure u can pass emissions), as someone already said greddy evo is the best complete system but theres otehr ones too, just the sound is different performance is usually the same.
AFter that its Ignition, better wirees plugs etc...
Everything after that is up to you, theres many different ways you can go, depending on your budget and what u want the car to do.

Oh, one more word of advice, stay away from those cheap e-bay intakes, exhausts, and all that otehr crap. The ones that sell really cheap are usually useless "mods"

and for the CAI, usually they're only good to about 7,000 RPMs and then they stop producing the mad stunna power. That's where the short rams own the CAI.

00 civic

havent posted in awhile, but my civic has responded really well to minimal mods, only have apex-i n1 catback, stock exhaust manifold (soon to be dc 5th gen ceramic) aem cam gear at 5 deg advance and "cp" <~ ebay for 50$ , cold air intake about to go injen or aem... its the dx, no vtec, but its also auto so right before it shifts for me , (bittersweet) it whines, sounds great, got taken by my twin car (00 dx) but he had done si swap, took my asss, said it cost him 3500 total....debating whether to save up for it... anyways, header is on its way soon, after that the civic will officially be the loudest car in my neighborhood... bittersweet too... lemme know who've you guys been taken by or took and how the modding is doing, later

Best Mods?

A '99 GSR US motor (B18C1) w/13K went for $2325 on eBay a couple of days ago, including the Y80 5 speed. If you did nothing else, you would be very pleased.

If you have more money to spend, Greddy makes great exhaust, but I've seen a bolt on Tenko for $160, which you would take to your own exhaust shop and have them fabricate the pipe (60 mm max) back from your catalytic converter.

The DC headers are nice, but they mainly help at high rpm's and if you have a good motor you'll already be going plenty fast at that point, so you may want to leave the GSR headers on.

I agree the AEM cold air intake is a good way to go, I've seen the short ones for as little as $70.00. I prefer the short ones because a shop I trade with is currently rebuilding two hydrolocked motors, one of which had the piece that's supposed to prevent water from getting into the engine. IMO, the incremental hp gain is not worth the potentially catastrophic risk of ruining your engine.

Good luck.

AEM came out with a new cold air called V2. I have seen some dyno charts on it and it looks pretty impressive. I betcha it is a lot but may be well worth it. As far as exhaust, i like the greddy evo because it performs and sounds nice, and the looks arent too bad either. Headers i would go with either a DC 4-1 (not 4-2-1) because you will gain more high end, or go with a ITR 4-1 header. After that you7 need to decide where you are going as far as all motor or forced induction because i wouldnt really worry right away about a throttle body for all motor, but if you are going NA, skunk2 manifold, if going turbo or vortec supercharger, JG manifold. ACT clutch, and if you are going with a flywheel, do not just shave the stock one. axles dont worry until u are pushing 250+ to the wheels. computer dont worry until you have forced induction with upgraded fuel and spark. All this is expensive, not to mention the motor itself but well worth it.
