I am in serious need of some QUICK HELP!! I was replacing a head gasket only to discover that the idiot that owned the car before me had the head rebuilt and shaved by a brain-dead monkey with a tool kit. there was .08 of an inch of warpage combined from the warpage of the block and the head. It is way past the recommended limit of shaving so i have a 97 accord engine (2.2 ltr v-tec) would that switch quickly and easily with my 2.2 sohc. also i need to know if my computer can be reprogrammed or if i need to get a specific computer for the v-tech. Are the motor mounts the same I need to know all the details. I NEED TO KNOW AS SOON A POSSIBLE PLEASE, I AM TRYING TO GET MY CAR BACK SINCE I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF WHEELS TO MAKE IT BACK AND FORTH TO COLLEGE!!!!!

I cant tell if you head will fit because i dont have engine codes but i can tell you that unless the two motors are the same series,(Im a b series guy so im not sure about your accord) unless they are the same series they most likely wont work, also if one motor was vtec you will need to adapt the wiring harness and hope that you have vtec oil passages in your block cuz i dont think that you can rig oil lines like the ls/vtec setup. Also you will need to get a vtec computer, and its "VTEC" not "vtech" unless you drive a phone.

just like sff900, accords arn't my specilty either but that engine should bolt in. Search the internet to make sure, you should come up w/everything. Your gonna need a vtec ECU and to make changes to your wire harnes, prolly a matter of running a few wires.

they are both F-series engines, so the swap should work fine.

Engine will bolt right in....both are f22's. Problems come with the ecu. Your car is non-obd....the engine is obd2. the ecu will not plug in. use your old ecu and the car should run but you will have no vtec and it may not run perfect. you will have to get conversion plugs....also guessing that the wiring harness is going to take some modifications. injectors will be high impedence and you should have an injector resistor box on your car so you will need diff injectors and such. I would try using your old intake manifold and then you shouldnt need to modify the WH. you can hardwire the vtec to a switch if you want it...but you dont need it if you are just looking to get back on the road.

thanx guys and sorry about the vtec spelling it was late and i wasn't thinking but i got some bad news about the other engine anyway. I couldn't use it no matter what i did to it, the guy that was supposed to put it in told me that none of my "accesories"( alternator, etc.) would work and plus i could not find a computer for it that wasn't going to cost me more than i can let loose of at this day and time. My mechanic said that getting all the "accesories" plus what it cost to put the engine in and getting a computer would run me too much and plus he refused to rig the vtec to a switch. so for what he quoted me as the cost of the whole procedure is almost what it is going to cost me for a 93 civic 4-door that i found. Plus I can get the civic on payments unlike the work on the accord. So All Help is appreciated
