u can run it at low psi, an not worry, but if u want any type of boost, then upgrade ur pistons/rods etc...simply because ur running at a 10:1 compression already, lower compression pistons will help keep ur motor from going ::BOOM:: when u thinkin bout gettin it? that'd be a nice lil ride...u have anything else on ur car?

Only if you don't know what you are doing or if you are wanting to run some unrealistic boost levels. Turbos are just like alot of mods you just have to know how to set it up correctly. If you don't then BOOM!
Don't hate on Turbos man!

Amen.... don't go greddy, if you're gonna go turbo go with a drag or revhard kit... personally i recommend the drag, love it to death.:flash:

Do you mean higher compression?

Turbos can be fun!
Look at what it did to the Skyline GT-R34; Lancia Integrale and all the rest of the Rally cars!

Not to mention Indy cars too!

no, he's going to want lower compression pistons if he's going to do forced air. if u have high compression, u have to run at lower psi, meaning less gains. plus, w/ lower compression pistons, ur motor is a lot less likely to go BOOOOOOOOOM

Oh, well, I have no experience from this; but I'm just following the name, so I thought High-Compression Pistons allow for higher rates of compression[?]

you can blow up any motor that you strap a turbo onto, it just all depends on how well built (or not well built) the motor is for turbo application and how much boost your cranking through it's veins.

stock gsr... run around 6 lbs and you should be fine for a while, also depends on how hard you drive the car. I've been running in between 6 and 7 lbs on my gsr... put the turbo on when i had 30,000 miles and now have 56,000... car still runs fine but I'm rebuilding the internals this spring so it can withstand higher levels of boost.
