Watched a neon go into guardrail

Was going on a cruise into the back country this guy that always trying to race me that has a neon with a DOHC was coming up on my ass at about 100mph. When he came around me he cut back really quick because there was a double wide trailer being moved onto the road ahead of us. I had already braked and as he came around me got sideways hit the right side guardrail with his driver-side front then the back wheels come up off the ground and the back hit the rail. Then he somehow came off the rail and then hit it again. After all this I stop and sun about 100 yards to his car and he said that he wasnt waiting around for the cops (guys been in jail more than he has been out) and the car was actually drivable. Oly thing besides body damage was the left rear wheel was cambered about like this \.

So if you own a neon watch out for the ass end being a little bit light. Or he might have just been a jackass and jerked the wheel to hard.

Easy on the neons fellas your making me feel bad. I can tell you now its hard as hell to get the ass end to come around in a neon. Its happened to me once and that was when I had bald tires driving WAY too fast on wet road. And still the ass didnt really come way around the car just drifted real bad, the ass more than the front but anyway.

speaking of dodge...

i watched a dodge ram 2500 with a bigass enclosed trailer behind it literally FLIP over on a turn between Boise and Moscow Idaho. he was going 50 around a 35mph bend... i think because he saw me do 45 or so around it... and somehow he flipped it...

i think the trailer caught wind and just pulled the truck over with it (i've seen video of this so it's possible) and the addition of the speed on the tight curve just sealed his fate....

hehe perhaps a dodge thing? hahaha

well, my friend has a DOHC neon i autocross with him. He has a good bit of suspension work the turn in on his car is sick. However he was expermenting with sway bar size, he ran a 22mm up front and a 22mm in the rear. This made the car horribly prone to snap oversteer, did it against the drivers will on at least 2 occations. Neons have really stiff chassis though, probaly a ton stiffer than most Civics so that lead to some of it as well. As for the kid you ran into...he got what he deserved, at that speed most any car would be making love to the guardrail hehe.

He ended up totaling out the car. He said that the reason he spun was a shim or sumin come out and the steering was all whacked.

ummm, suuuure....okay guy. hauling ass around a corner had nothing to do with it.

i love to see idiot drivers wreck. it sounds harsh. but damn. if you're gonna mess around then you get what you deserve. i used to see this dumb borad in her 90 CRX. thing was straight. every day i would see her driving around while talking on her cell. every single day. last month i saw the crx at the wrecking yard. front end smashed. safe to assume she was on her phone and rear ended someone. GOOD!
