honestly.... i dont have a clue. I know the guy saftying my car real well, and he told me i need a new one he never told me why, i think its cause you can take my wheels and shake them back and fourth on a lift. He said it will clean up my steering and make it tighter too. BTW that price is brand new

Because the ball joints on them are shot. The ball joint is welded into the UCA so you can't just buy the ball joint from Honda. I think you can cut out the ball joint and specialty products makes a balljoint but you need some kind of 5000lb press to get it in. Seems like a lot of work to save a few bucks.

Not really it would be like $30 for a balljoint and probably just a couple bucks to have a shop press it it. But finding the ball joint and finding a shop is more work. I would just buy a whole new one from Honda also. You win some you lose some.

Hey dude...make sure you check out www.hondaautomotiveparts.com

here is a link I think directly to a 5-speed DX upper suspension

These are OEM parts - and they are about the cheapest place I can find.

Incidentally, I have a lower ball joint for the front wheel assembly if anyone needs one. I bought one thinking mine was bad, however, I had not installed it tightly and it was loose, and now is good as new. This part was ~$35 (US funds) and is still in the package..just thought I would mention it since you are fiddling with front end suspension parts up there in the cold-ass Canadian winter.

See ya
