Lightbulb R32 Drag car

Well, this idea popped into my head for my next project (after the Evo and Supra) after watching an awesome vidclip...a stripped R32 dragster...

Problem is, I don't know how the make the interior look when I've stripped it, (obviously no rear seats etc). I will be makin a rollcage and other accessories (maybe nitrous? )...

Second problem, I want to use the Tamiya R32, the thing is, I can't see it listed at HLJ, any other place that may have one?

Feel free to post suggestions...

What about doing one as a street legal drag car? It would make it ALOT easier and may look better! The Aoshima HKS Kansai skyline has engine detail but it is a pretty wierd kit. It comes with a rollcage & an optional bonnet, I don't know what the Tamiya R32 is like but I'm only suggesting the HKS as another choice if you cannot get a Tamiya R32. This sounds like an interesting build. Have you tried your hobby stores for the Tamiya Skyline?

You mean a "rea" drag car, with the graffics and logos and stuff?

Or

A "Sleeper", stripped down drag car with a regular paint scheme (regular, well....i mean not an HKS'd-out sticker car).

When I buy models, especially "race" models, I'll build one to the race-car specifics, and build the other with the "Appearance" of a streetcar.

*think Jaccs Accord with red, orance and pearl white paint job, with all the decals........next to a metalic peach Jaccs Accord with no Decals*

Or...

*think Ford F150 Lightening matted with a F150 Nascar-Truck rear end.....two of'em. One with full logo's, graffics, and stickers,.......the other......a hot metalic hot pink*

For an R32, you're best bet is to try to salvavge the rear secetion from a Nascar Car or Truck kit and bond/mold/connect the rear "tub's" and wheels. (make sure you paint "Hoosier on the tires" in white on the tires).

You've got lots of options for nitrous tanks. Don't buy one yourslef, just make it yourslef. Use the radiatiator(sp) cap as the nozzle, and copper wire (paint it) as the tubing..

Be creatative..............build a "race car" and " " " street car " " " lol.

If you only build one R32, I suggest building a "sleeper" dragster. Don't cover it with stickers and shit. Give it a nice, unique paintjob, take time on the interior..........Tub the rear wheels, put a Nitrour bottle in the back, add some switchs, only one seat...with a racing harness (not hard to make with logos), Roll cage (not hard using copper wiring).......

An R32 Drag car sounds interesting.....keep me.....keep us....posted.

Well, it's not going to be street legal, this is the sort of thing I want to model it off (the Kiwis and hopefully the Aussies will know what this thing is...and what it's capable of ):

(sorry bout the size on this one...it's 6am and I can't be bothered changing it :finger: )

At least, as far as I'm aware it's not street-legal...

b/ Reece McGregors Heat Treatments GT-R

thought so.

Not an easy feet as the interior will almost have to be scratch built including an accurate dash and doors

Just get one of the Tamiya race modified R32s, like the Zexel, they already have a roll cage and stripped interior.

Cool

I'm not actually building a replica of the Heat Treatments GT-R, I was merely using it as an example (which I will follow very closely )....but I have 2 projects yet to finish so I may yet change my mind and use a race modified R32 maybe...if I can find one....

I'll see...right now I'm far too tired to think....

By "streel legal", I meant streel legal "appearance"... i.e no stickers/decals.

Build a race version, and a "street" (sleeper) version....

8.72 @ 158 mph 1/4 mile time makes the Heat Treatments R32 Skyline GTR the quickest 4WD in the Southern Hemisphere and holds the Australasian 4wd import record .

as soon as it has its parachute fitted and gets back on the strip expect this time to fall
