My brother is giving me his 5.0!!!!

Kind of giving me it. he is selling it to me for $1,500......It is a 1989 5.o GT convertible thats black with a white top. On the title it is 1 of 1 because it was made for the dealers wife. A Ford dealer. His wife could not handle the power or the gas eating machine and sold it to my Dad. Who gave it to my brother. Who held on to it for 6 years then his wife won't let him keep it. They have a kid and two other cars. They can't afford it living in San Diego.

Now you know the story. Sorry for blabbing on but as my screen name (white94civic) you know I should not be in this forum. Yes I have a dropped 94 civic 4dr with coilovers lowerded about 3 inches But I do not have a spoiler. I hate Spoilers. I love my civic since it gets 32 miles per gallon. And everything external has been replaced. Not only Body but also the engine. Everythings Blue and looks sick. But no engine internals have been touched. Why? Because it's a civic.

If you want POWER buy a real car my Dad and Brother have always told me. Thats why my car looks good But gets good gas milage. Hence I am a full time worker with full time Collage.

I will be keeping everyone posted on the complete 5.0 engine rebuilt (since it has 189,000 miles on it) and everything I do.

And no I won't Rice it out. It will be a full restoration and a beautiful Mustang when I am finished. Now I have the best of both worlds.

Sorry for the long post but I can't believe that the car is mine.

LaTes

Scott

Sounds like you are a lucky man, getting your first mustang, is like getting your first blow job. Its going to be more than you can handle.

I am glad that you have seen the light and are so excited about the car. If you really want to know how the car came from the factory check out this site, and have your VIN# ready. Cool site, tells all info about the car, if you get the DSO# off the door tag then you will know where the car was sent to be sold. 1989 is not too big a deal, cause thats the year all mustangs recieveed Mass Air, in 1988 only cars sent to Cali had Mass Air. They also have some little differences, I think more restrictive exhaust. This site will tell you the color of the top that originally came with the car. I am not sure that I have seen a white top on a black stang that came factory. Anyway there is some good info on this site.

LOL, good statement!

Actually I think 89 in the best year FOX to own. It has mass air, 140mph speedo, if its a late model 89 its a 25th anniversary edition. But it also doesn't have the hideous airbag steering wheel.

Anyway congrats on the new car, its a steel for a grand! I also second the site that StangMan suggested, lots of good info.
