Oh no
My 89 Max reached just reached 172,000 miles and while I was out driving then BAM, a huge cloud of white smoke was coming out of the tailpipe. THen the top heater hose blew a hole and pressure steam/coolant blew out with all the coolant. I shut it down on the side of the road. Field replaced the heater hose and filled up the overflow and radiator after it all cooled down. Then drove home about 1/2 mile. After cooling down again I filled the radiator and started it up. I know there are big BIG problems when the pulsating steam comes out of the radiator cap opening when the engine is running. Just like one of pistons is now in the radiator. HELP I know this is a big flag but I don't know where to start to repair. What is wrong and where do I start? I think the one of the pistons probably topped out and cracked the block. I recently replaced the water pump and had been overheating alot. Put on a new thermostat and flushed the system. I made sure I didn't disturb the timing belt but i must have upset the engine trolls and now I know this trouble is BIG. HELP me fellow MAXers. Where do I start to keep my Max a running...? |

?? I'm not an expert, but it kinda sounds like you've blown a head gasket. It would have been weakened, too, if you've been overheating a lot lately.

dude im not an expert either but before u go to a fat mechanic do a compression test if u can but if you cant u can allways go to haynes manual and it will tell u how you will need a compression meter from the auto part and it will have the instructions on it too, then check ur oil drain alitle bit and see how it looks look for color changes, foam and let us know what happens good luck

It sounds like you blew the gasket, and probably because your engine suffered overheating, your aluminum head might be twisted, and the head gasket is not sealed tight. Chgeck your gasket and see if the head is flat
