75 Camaro questions

okay..so here is my questions (there are a few and some will be pretty stupid)

so i bought this car for 150$...and all i see in this car is a hot rod..so what if its not a popular year, but its mine, its a classic and its a camaro.

anyways, it has a 250 straight 6 (if i remember right) with the 350t transmission (that part was what someone told me, im not sure for a fact). so what im wondering is how much would it cost to restore this car (ball park figure) inside and out..the interior is trashed, the exterior isnt in too bad of a condition hardly any rust. the sunroof is missing, one of the front fenders is bent and both side mirrors are gone..other then that its in good condition..is this worth fixing?

That reminds me of a cartoon I seen in hotrod mag. once. There was a guy standing next to a pile of Iron that somewhat resembled a car, the charactar was looking at the heap and the caption above his head was a picture of the heap of iron totally restored. You just about would have to see the cartoon to fully get it I guess. But anyway, Your off to a good start, as far as a ball park figure can't help you there it solely depends on your ability(what work can you do yourself ect.) comb the classifieds for people parting out camaro parts that will fit yours. You will have to buy some new stuff though, check out www.yearone.com and don't expect to get it all done overnight, you'll get burnt out on it. Start with the suspension work your way to the drivetrain, put an interior in do the body work and paint it. There are tons of resources on these early model camaros check into buying some if you are looking to acuratley restore it. Good luck.

well..when i first got the car i started to restore the engine..no you have to consider at that time, the only thing i knew how to do to a car was change oil, plugs and wires..that really hasnt changed a whole lot since then though..anyways, i was proud of myself because i was about to put the heads on and rods/rockers and all that...but that was as far as i got..even though i dont think id trust i did it right even though i was following a chiltons..

i had another question..if in fact my tranny is the TH350 (i think thats the correct name) will a 350 small block fit it?

Lets say you can't do anything yourself, workwise. Ballpark figure would be around 6 - 10 grand. Lets then assume you're a marginal mechanic and can follow instructions so you can do the engine restoration, all you need the interior/exterior donee. 4 - 6 grand. Once again, just ballpark figures, I really have no solid evidence to back this up

okay...so to get a decent car, and figuring i can do a few things myself it will be around 8grand.. thats not all that bad i guess...might as well start saving now :P
