Talking

Sit in the drivers seat and close all doors

press and hold the unlock button and insert and remove the key 3 times, on the 3rd time, leave the key in the ignition.

press the lock & unlock buttons on the remote for 12 secs

Repeat for ALL remotes ( up to 4)

Remove the key for the ignition.

This should program them for you..

I have a question. I have a remote from a 98 Intrigue. When I program it , the one remote I have for my 2000 Intrigue doesn't work anymore. They are the same make, #'s on the back are identical. Is there some kind of trick to get them to both work on the same car at the same time???

Are you programming both at the same time? That is, after you press & hold Lock & Unlock on one for 12 sec., do you do it for the other one as well? As a security feature, the car erases all remotes at the beginning of the programming process. That is so you can disable lost or stolen remotes.

Re: Keyless entry Remote Instructions

You press and hold both buttons down at the same time. Is this correct?

Re: Keyless entry Remote Instructions

How can I find out if a remote will match my car? Does only the GM Part number need to match?

By the way, I have a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue GL

Re: Keyless entry Remote Instructions

Ok for some reason the procedure isn't working for me. I followed the instructions and tried several times. It hasn't disabled my first remote. Any other ideas or thoughts why it didn't work? The battery is good.

When I do this step for my 98 Intrigue, the horn chirps 3 times and the remote still doesn't work. What does this mean?
