Got myself a tach

There are two sets of wires (Red, green, and black) and one set is connected to a black box, I've heard that you connect the green wire to a blue wire behind the gauge cluster, but my other friend is saying to hook it up to the distrebuter. what am I suppose to do.

you can do either, if you use the dist. then youll have to run a wire out under the hood, if you wire it to back of the cluster then you dont have to run it under the hood...

So the blue wire is even in the cluster without a tach? My autometer has a white wire that you hook up to the dimmer.

Yes...the blue wire is there even if the cluster doesn't have a tach...which is why you can take an Si tach and toss it in a DX or STD (as long as the years match) and it is plug & play.

I chose to run my tach wire to that same blue wire coming off the dizzy, but it doesn't really matter, cuz that blue wire heads to the cluster anyway I already had a hole w/ grommet in the firewall for my fog light switch.

I hope you got a 5" montser tach. That adds like 20HP and with the shift light another 5HP.

I took the cluster apart. and I see two solid blue wire at the top to the cluster. and I see a blue wire with a couple of silver spots leading to the pin. which one do I use? I'm guessing the one that leads to the pin.

Generally 85% of people who use the term rice, or make comments concerning rice all the time, are indeed ricers themselves :finger:

90% of all people that install a tach do not actually need it! Factory gauges in my car with only shift light hidden for non-rice look

What about if you swap the engine b16a do you need the tacho then or your civic is above all ours and has rpm above 8000rpm cause mine doesn't and I supose that it's good to see at what rpm are you runing, right now I have ECU changed on my D16A9 and the stock rpm meter comes to 8000rpm and then you can't see anything more now I've put a 5" tacho with the 10.000rpm meter and I can clearly see at what rpm I'm runing so don't walk around saying that everyone is ricer if he has a 5" tacho!!!

And the autometer tachos are more precise meters than stock so when my original rpm shows my limit over 8000rpm the autometer is on 7800rpm or somewhere around 7900rpm!

I hate that word ricer
that word was probobly invented by some guy that don't have enough money to spend on all the goodies that you can get for your car and he was probobly very jelous on those that can afford those parts, so for him are all those people that has more or can afford those parts ricers!

In here in Slovenia the "Jelous thing" is almost the national sport, god porhibes that the naibhour has more money than me or better car or better house, I'm sick of that I was hoping that you're (people that live in USA or any othere more rich country) better than that!

P.S.: sorry for my broken english, I'm trying my best!

THNX on the compliment I'm trying my best and I'm improving my english with reading your posts so everyday something new to learn, but here in Slovenia I must admit that some people are talking and writing english so well that I just can't belive it, as a sample my girlfriend she's a webdesigner and all here webs are in english she talks and writes english perefctly so when she reads my posts she must coment every sentens that I said incorrect so I'm almost a little ashamed but I'll get better...I must get better I have an exame from busines english in school (the program after high school I don't how you say it to that program it's the school for becoming an ingenier-ing.)

So in a way you're all helping me to improve my english THNX :flash:
