finally got it, need help

k after a long 9 months of waiting, i finally got my engine a b18a. but now i need to know a few things before i start. i picked it up from a friend of mine who crashed his crx, so the motor is from a crx si. i got the engine with teh mount adapters, but the rear mount was welded on to the crx so i cnat get it off, is there any other mount i can use, i thought i read somewhere about using the 90-93 integra rear mount, idk but looking at the rear mount, i see a rubber piece welded onto the car then a bracket bolted onto the engine, idk which piece is modifyed to mount the engine. the only thing i need help with is knowing what i need off the crx si to make the b18a work. i am gonna modify my dx harness and wire it up for multi point, but will my dx connectors fit on the b18a connectors ? i got the axles, and the shift linkage. i was curious abou the exhaust because the guy gave me a header with it and it bolted right up to the cat, so is no modicitaion required to the exhaust ? i also need to know will my stock throttle cable work ?, will my clutch cable work ? remember i got a dx. i also need to know what else i will need off that si, like will i need the fuel line from the fuel filter to the fuel rail, will i need any vaccum things.

so if any of you guys out there dropped a b16a or b18a into your dx, i really need your help in telling me every little thing you needed to modify on your car to make the b18a or b16a work. it normally wouldnt matter but the guy is gonna dump the car is a week, so i need everything off of the car now, i dont wanna miss anything.

i really appreciate your guys and girls help, thanks very much

The teg rear bracket you're talking about will only work with the rear mounts and not replace it. You need to get a rear bracket and any of the aftermarket mounts like HCP/Hasport or Place. To answer your Q's about the wiring, Yes, your connectors will fit but you need to add a few more wires to make it work (dpfi to mpfi). You'll need to replace your throttle cable, clutch cable, upper rad hose, distributor, ecu (pr4), axle & intemediate shaft (all from 91 teg). The only thing that you need from an Si are the injectors (non obd) and the injector resistor box which you will need for the dpfi to mpfi upgrade. Should you decide to add vtec to your B18a motor (lsvtec) or totally get a vtec motor, you only need to add 4 more wires from your original set up, 2nd O2, vtec solenoid, knock sensor, vtec oil pressure and of course a different ecu (pr3 or pwo)...Let me know, if you have any other Q's...

k i kinda got confused. is the rear mount modified at the bracket or the mount ? is there anyway i can use my stock civic rear mount because the one on the crashed crx is welded on, and i dont own any welding equipment so i cant get it off but i have the bracket on the b18a engine so yeah idk what to do or what will work. so my stock dx clutch cable will not work ? will the lower radiator hose fit ? what car do i get the upper hose for ? also what about the vaccum, will my dx have all the vaccum hoses needed to hook up the engine ? or will i need to add something for the vaccum hoses ? will my dx fuel line work on the b18a ?

i just need to know every single little thing i will need to change on my dx to get the engine runnin. my main concern is that rear mount and the vaccum lines, i guess wiring is alittle concern but i got the instruction on how to change my dx into an si.

According to HASport, the rear bracket is from an Si-R or a 90-93 Integra...here is a link where I got that info from

vacuum hoses will work...upper and lower radiator hoses from 91 teg also. I may have old pics of my b18 motor that i can post so you can check it out. The bracket from the B18a motor will not work...you need to get the motor or car somehow to a welder and unweld the rear mount and replace it to work. You definitely need the 91 teg rear bracket...browse www.hasport.com and check it out, that site helped me a lot when I did my original swap.
