Port and polished head question

I have a 93 Honda civic Si with I/H/E. I was wondering how much performance i might get out of port and polishing the head of my engine. And if it would be hard to take off of the engine to get it ported and polished. Or if anyone could give me a rough estimate on how much it might cost to have done on a sohc vtec.

thanks alot

Price, performance, and gains all depend on what is done. You can pickup a gude head package, or similar company, that will result in some very impressive gains. But that runs roughly $1500.

I've heard of people getting their heads port and polished around my area for $30-40, don't know if they did any preparation before hand or something first; but that's what I've been told.

$30-40. Count me in.

Port and polishes arent too cheap. So I doubt it was 30-40. If you want an Idea on prices, call your local shop.

$30-40 is what i was told, i'll check on the details and make sure I'm not completely incorrect but i'm pretty sure that's right, I'll ask my friend and write back tonight on whether i'm right or just confused but i'm pretty sure that's what i was told.

For that price, it will be all by the guys eye - and any gains will be purely coincidental. You need a good flowbench with proper flow testing and match porting. $30-40 is a joke.

Crack+head=bad

Get a B series. A B18C5 ITR engine will fit NP with a mounting kit and bonnet bulge. Go for it, my friend!:grey:

Umm...yes. I'm going to sometime this year actually. But it's going into a 5th gen hatch. In $AUD a B18C5 is about $4k for the motor or $6k for the whole front cut.
