hondas are made in 3 places: Ontario Canada, Ohio USA, and Suzuka Japan......mine is made in canada, if your friends car was made in japan then the whole car is jdm, because it had to ahve been imported if it was produced at the Suzuka factory

I thought most 88-91 hatches were made in Canada.. Look at the VIN # on your car.. If the 1st nuber is a 2 it was made in Canada, if its a J it was made in Japan.. And if it was made in the states I [i]believe its a 1.. But it could be a 3.. I'm unsure about Americas number, but I know Canadas and Japans..

hiey wuts up. Im a new user and i dont want to sound like Mr knowitall, but an easy way to tell the difference between candian and jdm is seatbelt location. canadian cars have the seatbelts on the doors, and jdm are on the door pillar.

guess again... the seat belt location is year dependant... and both of my rexs came from japan and both had the seat belts on the doors... and both were 89s'

From what i have noticed. Early 4thgen hatches were Japan made, late later ones were Canada made. My 88 is Japan made and Ami's 89 is Canada made. All 4 doors i have seen were Japan made, and i have seen all years. The 2nd gen crx's i dunno, never really checked on them.

Maybe they made only made DXs in Canada.. Mine is a DX and it was made in Canada..
BTW - I've never seen a 2nd gen rex or 4th gen Civic here in Ontario with the seatbelts in the doors.

I had two si's that were made in canada....but like someone else said, it doesnt matter where they were made, its where they were made for.... I dont think any cars made for canada had the seat belts in the doors....but I had a 90 and a 91 si and both had belts in the doors...
