guage cluster swap HELL.....HELP!!!!!!!!

ok, so im trading my 88-89 guage cluster to this guy for a 90-91 and i got it tady in the mail, hooked it up, and the lights dont light up, and the tach doesnt work, anyone else have a problem like this when installing an Si tach in there std? if so please tell me what you did, thanx

it is a 91 Si cluster going in to my 91 Std.......sorry had to clear that up, any ideas?

you should have no problems at all its all plug and play. hate to say it but you probaly have a defective speedo (they are fragile). i would hook it up into another 90-91 std or dx to see if it works. if you dont have a person with a 4g hatch in your area, maybe you should send it to a person on this forum that you trust. just a suggestion!!!

(i personally have installed a tach in a dx, and std (corresponding years) and have had no problem!)

the speedo is working greak, its the tach that is the problem

sorry, i don't have any ideas, should be just plug n play, but shit happens. I can't come up with any way to find out if every wire is going where it should go on your new cluster, unless you have the wire harnesess's that came with it. then you could match them up just to make sure all the wires are correct

the best thing for the light deal is to again look for a current to the pod if there is power before it then its the pod if not... heh good luck man

check the fuse. i did the same swap, and for some unforeseen reason it blew the fuse sometime between the last time i drove before the swap and right befroe i tried to drive with the new cluster. i swapped the fuse, and everything has been kosher shince then.

well....i figured it out...the cluster that he traded me for my 88-89 was in fact the same damn thing.......anyone wanna trade a 88-89 cluster for a 90-91?!?!
