Hi, this is Ian from Hong Kong. That's so great to meet all the nice guys here.
Here is my recent project: Tamiya Eunos Roadster (aka Mazda MX-5). This was built with minimal modifications (not quite the trend here~), to THE configuration that we mean by "a Roadster" (BRG body + tan interior). Feel free to comment~ ![]() I took it to the "Modeling Real Man Show" (Hong Kong's modeler meeting) last week, where I met other Hong Kong modelers like LauBak & Issac (Lau was the Auto section's coordinator) and had a good day with all these models & modelers in the show. ![]() Just can't wait for next show~ There were some 70 auto models in the show, and I'm sure everyone here would be interested. Would Lau & Issac (who else was in?) post some pictures from the show here for us? |

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
Great to join this exciting & friendly forum. ![]() Yes, It's lucky being a modeler in Hong Kong. There are numerous well-stocked model shops in the city, and not far from home (less than an hour of public transport for me; within walking distance for luckier ones like LauBak), Japanese kits are easily available and inexpensive (usually no higher than MSRP), if not irresistably cheap (sometimes)...... I'm sure modelers would love to make some shopping in HK. ![]() Thanks for the compliments to my Eunos, MX-5, Miata, whatever... I love this color scheme too. I'll try to take some outdoor pics for my roadster this weekend. btw, How can I post more than 1 pic in a message? I'm now working on a 1/24 Volvo FH12 tractor from Italeri, the kit fits not quite well (needs some corrections), but I think it would be an interesting & eye-catching model when done. I'll post my progress here (when I made any ), though I'm a very slow modeler.Thinking about building another kit in parallel too, no idea about which kit yet. I'd like to pick an easy one. Thanks LauBak for the photo, pls keep an eye on the RMS's website athttp://www.cybermodelers.com for a full report of the show in a few weeks (or months). |
