body kit ? (labor cost)

what would a body kit for a hatchback cost to have somebody install it? is it better to pay somebody to do it, or is it easy enough to do it myself?

if you buy a urethane kit you should be able to install it yourself without any problems, but if you bought a fiberglass kit.........2 words...im sorry

most fiberglass kits are basically "universal" because they dont come finished with mounting lips....so you have to have these lips fabricated in order for the bumper to even go on the car, and i heard some real horror stories about fiberglass fitment, i would think that it would prolly run you approx. 400-500 to ahve a fiberglass installed

fiberglass kits suck!!! my dad owns a body shop here in florida and i orded a cheapo 6pc kit off ebay and when i recieved the kit it had cracks in it not to meantion the front bumper was 3 inches too big so me and my dad had to cut 3 inches out of the middle of the front bumper and custom make a front lip out of fiberglass. its easier to work with but why work with it if you don't have to. i think my kit fits better than any urathene kit only because my dad does body work for a living and we have spent so many hours making sure everything is perfect. nothing fit right. but my dad charges a minuim of 700 bucks to install a 6pc fiberglass kit. thats with making all the brackets and shit.

if you don't have the money to buy a top notch fiberglass kit then get urethene, the only thing that sucks is there is no fixing them, they say that they won't bend or break but they do

i think that puttin on fiber kits is pretty easy and i've never had to custom make brakets, just drill into the lip screw it in and it fits. there was one kit that i had to cut off around 3 inches off the side skirt but that about it. maybe i'm just lucky.
