if you buy $100 coil overs..you're gonna get $100 coilovers... i.e. cheap! crappy ride...not very low....stuck perches...cracked sleeves..the list goes on

what about MaxSpeed? I got them for $120 and I looked at online parts distributors and found that they go for up to $300. Anyone know if their a good brand? I cant wait to get them on, I just need new struts.

No question-you get what you pay for. The 2 best kits for sleeve type coilovers are Skunk2 and Ground Control. Personal choice is Skunk2 and Koni, but each has an opinion.
If you don't know the spring rates and other factors in advance there is no way you can determine how to set the car up. It is true that certain combinations of sleeves and shocks has led to cracking on the bottom of the sleeve-there is a fix, btw, to prevent it.
Happy New Year

I also have that setup.(Skunk2 and Koni). I was not cheap. But it is very true you do get what you pay for.

I have maxspeeds on my hatch and the ride is great! Before that I had Goldline springs which was a super rider but got my B16 swap w/ a type R header and it scrapped all over the place. I got my maxspeed coilsovers from my wholesaler for $90 and the ride is great! I'm not too low but for the money..... they are better than the rest in there price range. Good Luck!
