Aoshima models

Are Aoshima models any good? Because I'm HUGE into Japanese VIP car tuning, and almost all their models seem to be sweet VIP cars.....and I want them all!!

Being from Japan i'd say they would be a good kit.

That's one manufacturer I haven't bought anything from yet. Sorry. I hear they're on par with Fujimi kits: nice, but simple; less detail than Tamiya.

Well, less detail might be better for me, I suck at working with tiny pieces and painting small bits....

if you've built Tamiya kits and Fujimi kits.. it's some where between the two... thou more near Fujimi,

some of the kits are made better then others thou.. depending on the popularity of the car... I've seen some REALLY nicely molded kits and some so so ones... but they're pretty easy to work with.. but one thing i find about that company's kits are they are a bit over priced.

The detail looks thick, but the subjects superb!

I had a good look at all the kits on Hobbylink, and some inspiring subjects!!!

More work than a Tamiya, but often the only way you can build a certain car!

I say go for it! Great wheels too!

Aoshima is very near to Tamiya.

I have quite a respectable collection of Aoshima kits and for me , the quality is more closer to Tamiya than Fujimi. The interiors are superb and probably better than the other two.And the chassis details , at least in their lasts models are equal to Tamiya if not better. The wrong thing is that the body proportions not always matches with the real one subject, which is a rather Fujimi "no-no". The variety of Aoshima is just vast, I mean, IF you like Japanese cars of all ages. They are specialized on sedans mainly. When thereīs an engine inside the bonnet they arenīt normally to the Tamiya standards or even Revells, judging by my 1/24 Skyline RS-X Turbo Intercooler (R30).
As a whole is totally recommendable as a maker I think. But depends much on the model. Itīs better to compare first the same kit already done , of Tamiya , Fujimi and Aoshima , and then buying the best.

I order every VIP car I can! I have several on my website if you care to look! I have about 20 VIP kits yet to build and 3 more should be here any day now! Highly recommended except for the Toyota Crown V-8 VIP cars, be prepared to worked with this one because it's an older mold.
