Thumbs up 2002 Civic EX runs 15.8 stock!

This is the video of a buddy of mine on 7thgencivic.com. He ran 15.8 bone stock in the 1/4 mile. Just thought that I would share with you all.

Stock as in nothing on the car is anything but factory? Pretty fast for a stock civic.

Yep, straight from the factory with no mods at that time.

Pretty good. So, where did your friend find an open dragstrip in the middle of winter?

Actually this was video taped on March 8. He had just gotten the car 3 months before this run.

I haven't been on this forum for a while. I've moved over to 7thgencivic.com for the most part and I figured I would share the video with you all.

If you think I am going to believe that a stock 2002 civic EX which is suppose to run a factory time of a 16.7 is running a 15.8 because of a good driver then you must be crazy. I mean it is hard for lightly modded LS's to get a 15.8 at the track.

I love how you pulled that exact 1/4 mile supposed time straight from car-stats.com. Even the 2002 Si's are hitting 15.7's stock. You can check out EPHatch.com for those time slips.

A mag reader huh?

We didn't really believe him at first either.

Go read the thread about it.

Yeah and the 2002 Si's are also DOHC and they put out 160horses and are 2.0L and they are a hatch. The 2002 EX's are 1.7L 127 horses SOHC. You are telling me that a 1.7L SOHC 127HP runs almost as fast as a 2.0L DOHC 160 Horse? That laws of physics do not allow for that. Also the Factory time of the 2002si is a 16.1 from Honda.

I think RedNeck is right, looks like it he was taping the TV.

That is VERY impressive for a stock Civic.

the civic coupe weighs less than the hatchback. the hatchy is WAY over-weight for such a small car. i honestly don't know if the guy can pull it, but if he can, then props. an frostbyte, u say its tough to believe, yet ur car can? i mean, all those mod's u added aren't going to take off a second in the 1/4 mile. unless ur car runs faster stock...don't kno for sure, but don't think the short shifter an stuff is gonna take it down a second. so i say if we can believe u, then i think we can believe this guy.
