Angry Friggin red plastic bleeding through primer!!!

That`s right. It`s looking at me like "I`m friggin retarded"!!!!!!!! I sprayed on a couple coats of gray and white primer (plastikote) and is still turning out pink. I am afraid to start painting and wasting my time. I am going to spray it with duplicolor yellow laquer. Do you think it will cover it up? Any tips?

Get some Dupont Variprime automotive primer, it's great for blocking red plastic bleeders. Put a couple coats of it on then white primer or whatever.

Believe it or not but you can spray on a coat of Future before priming to seal the plastic.

Ok, I wont. It`s actually both of them! I thought I would do both while my roomate is gone and the house is all mine. I did start painting the Yellow one though, and it looks like it`s not bleeding through at all! :smoker2: I used Duplicolor. Man this stuff is great! Anyway, the only yellow they have is a little light, so it looks like a trip to the hobby store for some chrome yellow is in store.

935k3,you mean to tell us that you can apply future floor polish before applying primer to seal the plastic?Does that work with lacquer primer like Duplicolor?Hawk312,I just converted to Duplicolor. Now I'm trying to figure out why I didn't do it sooner. That stuff IS great!

In fact my friend Bill Geary who is has won many National contests in the US used it under one of his prize winners. I have have also read articles in magazines where people have used it. It is an Acrylic finish. Outside of th US it is called Johnson's Klear. It can be sanded if needed.
