I can't think of anything at the moment that blows worse than this...Is it all broken, or just violently dissassembled? Is the damage repairable? Tell us how you make out with their claims dept...

I cant quite work out what's happened there? If it was shipped in that clear case, which in turn was packed inside a box i assume, how did the model get so bashed up and the case still be intact. I can't see how all that damage was done by the model rattling around in the case, it looks well cushioned to me

Get them for every penny they've got! It really gets me mad to see great work ruined like that.

Danm thats messed up!
Not saying that it's not UPS's fault but You could have done a bettr job of packing it though. You should of used some bubble wrap fitted aoround the car and replaced the paper towels[interior of case] whith bubble wrap or peanuts. and put more bubble wrap around the exterior of the case[especially dealing with ups & usps]. Lastly Peanuts around everything in your shipping box. I'm pretty sure that would have saved it for more shipping tips contact: 1-800-ship-me j/k lol

It's not how it's shipped, it's how it's packed that makes all the difference..
Take it from someone who regularly ships out VERY FRAGILE models, you have to pack it right, or you might as well throw it on the concrete and save the headache. First of all, wrap the car in bubble wrap. Put that into a box that fits with some to spare, fill the rest up with packing peanuts.. seal that box. now get a larger box that the smaller one fits into with about 4" on each side... Now put the smaller box in the center of the bigger box all packed with peanuts to fill the excess space. do that and your model will arrive safely. It creates insulation from shock.. the smaller box absorbs a lot of the shock when the big box is dropped, the peanuts and bubble wrap inside that box dissipate it further.. so by the time the 'shock wave' gets to your model, it's almost nothing.. and it'll stay intact. |

About "insurance"
it can take as long as 18 months to get paid for an insurance claim... I'm not sure about UPS's policy, but USPS makes you send papers all over the damn globe to have them signed before the claim will even be processed, then you gotta wait for the red tape... with the USPS, you have to take the form to the Postmaster where you mailed the package, and have him inspect the damage, and he'll sign off on it, then you gotta mail everything to the postmaster of the destination point, and do it again... Insurance is a joke... It's a complete rip off.. I'm not going to have my customers running around getting papers signed for insurance.. Just pack it correctly. |

When UPS had broken one of the neon tubes from a neon underbody kit I shipped out, they paid me in full for the whole set! And they didn't even keep the box of stuff I sent the guy. If I had really wanted to I could have sent it back to the manufacturer and gotten a replacement but it just wasnt' worth the time or hassle. My UPS insurance dealings went very smoothly, no weasling out at all! Just call them, and then they will send you and the other guy papers, then you both have to send them back.(or only you get the papers I can't remember, it was a few months ago) And then the guy has to hold the model for 5 days so that if UPS wants to look at it they can. After that they send you the check

did you secure your car onto the base, like screwing together with the car and base. The plastic case don't see any damage, then it must be your car been smashing on the plastic case surface.
Next time when you want to ship out, maybe trying No Try Turn and my way will safe up alot of trouble, IMO!!!
