Enzo Recovery thread...

Twenty years of modeling experience doesn't mean one can always make a good model.
This shows the stage after gray primer.

If you are a beginner, be encouraged, because even experienced modelers do screw up.
These are just after white primer was applied on gray primer.

Gray primer was Gunze Surfacer 1200, and I used Modeler's Base white. Problem was that the Modeler's ran out, so I used Mr. Base White 1000 on the same day.

This could have been prevented, by not using different brands of primer, or wait for a few days between each coat.

So, originally this was meant to be Enzo progress thread, but now it's Enzo recovery thread.

First thing to do is to smooth the surface with 1000 grit sand paper, and that's what I'm doing right now.

Oh dear, one of the most eagerly anticipated models of the year and the paint gremlins attack it!

The body looks pretty complicated, but I bet it'll be good fun. Got any more pics of the kit contents?

Now, my Enzo project is back on track.
These are the parts you need to cut for the body color.

And my model looks like this now. I'll wait for a few days and apply the base color.

wow, that's a lot of body parts to be painted seperately. But that adds to the realism I guess.

Primer looks OK now.

As some of you might know, I'm not a fan of the subject, but am always interested in a good build report! This one included.

Hint is in the first post. I used Modeler's Base White, and that was the cause of my problem, because it reacted with Mr. Base White. Modeler's base white and pure white are two of the most opaque white in the Japanese market. One short can costs 700 yen or so, and sure, it's very expensive, but it turn black body into pure white with just about three coats or so.
