clutch woes

I got a 1996 G20 (non t) from the day I got it it has made a odd growl when you shift at around 5200-6700 with any throttle pressure present .Now the car wont chirp 2nd like it used to and i adjusted the cable boath ways . So now more than ever my clutch is bugging me (between that and the ron chong how to page I just downloaded). I got the car at 32000 miles and it now has 50,000 miles and it seems odd that i need a change at 50,000 instead of 120,000 I dont think i drive it hard enough to ruin a clutch that fast but who knows. Anyway does all this sound normal ? Im now looking for a good pressure plate and to run a stock clutch disk (for longevity?) does any know a good setup that grabs good and will last about 65,000 miles ?im going to be autocrossing the car so grab will be more important soon.
