Generally with car audio you wont be needing to 'soulder' anything, basically you will need to crimp, which isnt very difficult granted you have a good wire cutter / stripper.

Below is a pic of my amp / cap, where you can see my various connectors crimped onto the wire.

hey melt is that your box next to your cap???? if it is why did you use plywood instead of mdf .......I bet that thing resonates like hell........anyway....."soulder" is 10x's better than any crimp and tape job..........do it right the first time......imo

Melt has a point on crimps. For car stereos the main part on the wires you are going to touch is the ends where you crimp the connector on. Now if he were to be connecting 2 wires together, it would be better to solder than crimp, but crimping will work if you dont have access to a solderiing gun.

Stereos are pretty simple to hook up, the only trick is figuring out how you can push your amp harder than its supposed to without frying it. I was able to get about 500 watts out of a lil 120 watt amp, thing hit a 140. If you got any questions im sure there are plenty of people in here that can help you out.

those wires are a lil messy ain't it? u should have took some extra time and made it neat and concealed so nothing will mess up ur wiring in the trunk.

that is what i just noticed. Still not hard to hide all the wires. they can tuck under the carpet easy. just get some spacers for the screws that hold the amp down so it sits above the carpet enough for wires to run under it. make a little cut in the carpet under the amp and run the wires out through there.

Yeae its hooked up, if you look closely you can see the black wire (ground) coming off the left post.

As far as the wiring, I will get to it, no time.

If your installing your system yourself.
MAKE SURE you run the Power cables down the opposit side of the car as the Interconnect cables (RCA's, Remote) Or you may get an annoying high pitched huming sound.
Here's how i did mine.
NOTE** I have a new setup. it's not the jensen amp anymore.
I have a JL Audio 250/1 amp, and 2 10" JL subs.. I'm just waiting to have my fiberglass box built

Nice clean setup 90civicrider. He is right about running the power and RCA cables.

Mine didnt look that clean under everything because I didn't take the seat out. Was your amp mounted to the box? I was always against mounting the amp on the box, just never thought it was a good idea for keeping the box sealed. Still yet a clean setup.

Oh yea...I was suprised about how much those Jensen amps can push though. I got a 300 to push about 400-500...guessing...either way it was a lot more than 300, with out frying.

I hit 138.5db at a DB contest.
I had the Jensen amp Bridged into 200x2. Along with the 2 10" Pioneer's i think i did hella good.

That amp is also forsale if anyone is interested. $50.00 + S&H takes it.
It's got all the original packing, manuals, & High input connectors..

Before I had mine hooked up right it hit 139.8 db, bridged in a parallel to 2 12" JL Audio's. Then I borrowed a friends Planet Audio 120 Watt amp and had it bridged in a series and it hit a 140.8 db, ended up frying that eventually, but it took an ass kickin. Once it fried I hooked back up my Jensen 300 and it was even louder than the PA, but never got a db test done, was planning on it, but the subs and stereo got stolen before I got a chance to. I was guessing it was hitting around a 142-143 with the jensen. I half way know my shit around hooking up car stereos.
