94 jimmy 4wd disengaging to neutral, no power to ground

I have a 94 Jimmy and was out 4 wheelin today and it popped out of 4wd. It completely came out of all gear, and stopped moving. I tried all gears in the tranny, 12dOD, and reverse, and still no movement, not even 2wd. Then I disengaged 4wd via push button and hear a loud grinding. I immediatly shut the engine off, restarted it and it was then in 2wd and would move. I then reengage 4wd and it worked for a while and did the same thing. Does anyone have a aswer/solution? I was working the 4wd pretty hard, I was powersliding in a plowed field.

Thanks for any answers.

Re: 94 jimmy 4wd disengaging to neutral, no power to ground

Ok, today I was out just driving threw snow in 4wd and I lost all gear, for good. The truck will not move, it is neutral out of gear. I tried gears 1 2 D OD and R, but nothing. The 4hi indicator light is on, and I tried taking it out and nothing. Tried 4lo and would not engage. Tried taking out of 4hi while being towed and nothing.

Does anyone know what this is. Is it the transfer case control box, TC solonoid, the shift fork, or anything else?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
