I need help! quick! tomorrow it's the painting day!

ok, so I just need someone good or P-man s' advice!

Here's my questions:

After I primed the car, and I saw some rough spot on it
do u just sand it till smooth or can u use compound for that?

Now move to the painting:
currently, Im working on my Tamiya Porsche 911 road version, and Im painting it "Light Blue TS-23". I just want to knw if I MUST use clear coat or I can just use compound then wax and still get the same effect.

Thnx for replying!
Henry

Hi Henry,

To remove the rough spots in your primer, use wet'n'dry sandpaper under running water. I usually start with about 800 and then move onto 1200 and stop there. This not only removers the roughness, but also gives something for the base colour to "key to". You can go into 2000 but I find it doesn't make a big difference for me.

You don't have to use a clear coat, but I find that the results gets better , the more effort you put in............... Hate that¨
:flash:

Good luck!

Clearcoats cant hurt as long as you dont overdo it.

If you plan on sanding the paintjob prior to polishing, clearcoat can prevent you from sanding off the bodycolor from the edges.

1...sand it with 1200 grit then make sure the serface is really really clean before painting

2...No need to clear coat if you get the paint just right...just compound and wax.
