oh don't go there, you and I know that a 5 speed stock ,96-99 maxima will HANG (not beat) with a stock z-28. Don't talk about something you don't know about and I'm not getting hostile but truthfully, have you raced a 5 speed stock 4th gen Max? Don't lie. I'm not saying I have the fastest caR on earth but I'm runnig y-pipe, exaust, FORCED INDUCTION, and intake and I'm an AUTO max I can beat mustang GT's and Z-28's Autos. Depending on the driver I can beat the 5 speeds also. My max stock was 190hp , a stock Grand Am gt is 170- 175hp, a neon is slower than that so to answer your question, YES the Max will do better.

If so you are the worlds best car tuner to slap on a kit, tune it to an amazing out put of 447hp out a neon motor, not to mention upgrade the tranny ,and take the motor apart and change the internals... i mostley had all the parts i needed. during that whole month and a half i worked on it.i had plans on buyin a mercury couger.but i decided to put that money and a credit card in the neon to see what i can do with it.here's the long list of shit i got.

note that i wasn't the only one who's working on my neon i was raised in a garage.i got 2 uncles and my father who are certified mechanics.they together built about 4 or 5 cars from scratch.i got a real problem with competition i always have to win.no question about it,i have to be the best.i have no reason to lie to you.
