i can get the wail out with my 89 lincoln towncar without trying. I found out that you dont slam on the gas ina 300+ hp car when going around the corner when its wet out cause i almost spun out and into oncoming traffic, but after there was no damage(thank god cause all of the powertrain except for the engine and trans have just voer 200,000 miles on them

Yeah, I drove to safety in the same car (1990 Nissan Stanza)

My tires were bald and I was driving along at about 95 kph. All of a sudden, I was 45 degrees in the middle of the wet asphalt. I tried bringing it back 4 times until the car kicked left into an unrecoverable skid. So I locked up the brakes as to stay on the road as long as possible.

Now the rest of the story is logicaly pieced together by everybody in the car, 'cause we were in and out of concienceness.

The car was heading off to the left at an almost perfect 90 degree angle. I can still see the void, a perfectly black windsheild as the car jumped off the end of the culvert, missing the cement piece by 5 inches. In the air, we did a 180 thus facing the road with the headlights. BUT, we landed in a peculiar fashion. the car was in the air on it's right side and landed on the side walls of the right tires, heading left from inside the car. I almost broke the side window with my head, and bruised my co-drivers head with mine.

The car slid on, doing another 180 and ended up sliding past a telephone pole, facing the woods again.

So it comes down to this by calculus and analysing the crash site that: If I had failed to keep the car on the road for one extra foot like I did, we would have ripped off the front end on the culvert, broke the telephone poll while on our roof and would have run into the house, possibly hurting someone.

All right I’m here...

So for starters. I can hand brake my old 91 Subaru "AWD" around an intersection hit gravel and slide into a stop sign. Then drive out of the ditch with a big dent in the side of my car due to my wonderful AWD. Then go home and tell my dad I swerved for a deer. He's smarter then that though. I can do a J-turn in my ole Subie and blow a tire off the bead.

I can do a 270 in my moms 98' Subaru 2.5 GT. That’s the fun car. Handles like a dream. A 270 isn’t much except for when you start it and then make a left hand turn and end up facing the street you just turned off of. That was awesome.

I can do so many 180’s in my moms car that the rear tires become bald. Now think about this. A front wheel drive car "Subaru’s are front wheel drive then become AWD when tires slip" dont loose grip on rear tires. So I’m just glad that my parents haven’t figured out that there’s no real logical way that the rear tires should be bald and the front like new when your driving it correctly.

I can take my sisters 2000 Subaru Imprezza Outback Sport and hit a rock, which caused the Fuel Solenoid to brake, dent the gas tank, and scratch the bumper. Man Katie you must of hit one big rock when you were driving down the freeway!!! heehe she'll never know.

I can jump my good ole Monte Carlo "a rental due to my suburban getting wrecked, read next story", so bad that sparks were visible from inside the car. I also can drive with the e-brake on so far that I was sweating bullets for a week after I returned it. The tires were so so bad. Tha thump tha thump tha thump was the only thing you could hear in the car from the flat spots. Made things rattle all over the car. I loved that piece of crap.

So my last story isn’t my fault. All the stories above are true. My friends and I have this slight fascination with Rally Racing. And since we currently own 2 Subarus and we used to have that ole 91 I got lots of practice sliding and racing through the woods. So my last story is this; It was about 8:30 at night and I was headed back to Campus from a local taco place with my roommate. I was going through an intersection and a girl in a 01' Beatle had ran the red light and hit me. First of all my car is a little big. Its a 90' Suburban. It has a 6' Superlift with 36' Super Swamper Radials. It’s big. She hit my rear drivers side tire and slide underneath my car. Right under the passengers door. She took out my drive shaft, spring packs, shocks, all connections to brakes, bent my differential, broke one axel, bent the other axel, cracked my transfer case, bent my spring perches, and ripped my exhaust to smithereens. She dented my door, dented my bumper, and dented my quarter panel. She hit me so hard that I was put on the vehicles left side tires only. The force of the 6000 pound vehicle coming back down made stress fractures in the right side fender from the 36's being slammed past the bump stops and making contact with the fender. It made me go in a 200 degree or so spin and hit a light post. My roommate and I walked away from it without a scratch. I thought the girl in the bug was dead. The front of the car was gone. No bumper, no hood, no glass, nothing. I ran over and the girl was ok. She had a ripped up knee and that was it. I was pissed but, I got a new paint job out of the deal, some free body work, and I took one more damn bug off this planet.

I will post some more stories when they pop back up in my head.

Enzo, do you use trailing-throttle oversteer? I can get mine out, but if you could show me how to even better, that would be great.

Thats pretty awesome, but you better hope your family (or worse your grandma, which I guess is family to) never sees this!

I cant legally drive yet, and don't have anywhere to learn stuff, but I try (ie, sliding a 92 suburban around on ice, that was fun, or sliding a 87 nissan around, but nothing really cool yet)

When I first did it it was kind of by accident. Basically, I was going about thirty in second gear, and realized I wanted to turn. So I did, and basically floored it when I did. Just from turning the rear tires broke loose, and the power caused the front wheels to peel out a bit, but once they gained traction (not too long til they did), they pulled the rear back into place.

It was so much fun I went and did it a few more times, then went and got a friend...and did it a few more times.

Man of man, unite, you are on crazy mofo. My parents would have hung me on one of the trees in the backyard if I did that much stuff to their cars. The worst I've caused on purpose is the e-brake needed to be tightened after continuous use.
