I just bought a Tamiya Mercedes Benz SLK model and I was thinking of buying the tamiya spraycans and tamiya primer, but I found them to be a bit expensive for such a small amount. I was wondering if anyone knows a cheaper primer and spraypaints to paint the model???

From what I hear, go for the tamiya. Better finish, more money.

Try duplicolor paint and primer.About $3.50 a can and you get twice as much as Tamiya and Testors. You can get it at AutoZone or Wal-Mart.It also dries very fast and goes on thin.

Duplicolor orange-peels very easily, but yeah its a good alternative to tamiya.

Which brand makes the Chamelion paints? I wouldn't mind doing a model in those types of colours. Is it easy to apply? Any hints/tips about how to apply it? Do you need priner, is there a special way to put it on? How much is it? Anyone know in AUSD?
