What is a fair price to pay for a 325 coupe?

Hi folks. I'm brand new to the forum. Presently own a '99 Audi A4, have had two extraordinarily expensive repairs in the past year, totaling over $7000, and am anxious to get rid of it. Drove the 325 coupe and I like it.

The dealer does not seem willing to offer much in the way of a discount. There was only one coupe in the lot, so maybe he doesn't have to. But I don't want to pay more than necessary. My general rule of thumb is that 5% over invoice is a fair deal for both sides, but I have a feeling it doesn't work that way with BMW's. So, my question is: What is a fair price to pay for the 325 coupe?

Thanks for your help...

Well, I would suggest the 328, it came out in 1996 and was made until the E46 came out. A stair step between the 325 and 330 engine. A fair price for a 325 would only be slightly less than the 328, and of course coupes are a bit more than the sedans. Don't pay more than around 16000 for a really low mileage 325is.

However, if you are willing to take a gamble, hold out for a 1995 M3, you can get a really good one for about 20K. Don't be intimidated by roadfly.com and places like that, they are all headcases.

I don;t understand how almost everyone pays over invoice for their bmw's. My family has bought several enw form the dealer over the past 5 years, and we always seem to get about 1000 off. We live in indiana, and our dealer is dreyer and reinbold. Is there something strange about this?

Sometimes the dealer will inflate the prices if you are buying a model before the year ends, ex -> a 2003 in 2002?

Just a thought.
