Exhaust Help!!!

right now i have a stock header on my si hatch with 2 1/4 custom piping all the way to a hp racing muffler. my car sounds like shit!!! its that loud raspy noise whenever i put the pedal down. i don't want to waste money on a new muffler for it to sound the same, cause i def am getting a header shortly and that def isn't going to quiet it any. and i have a silencer for it but it makes sound even worse.what i am looking for is the queitest muffler out there. if i have to i will by a plain jane muffler and throw on a tip. i don't know what to do. but everytime i ride in my car it gets on my nerves so bad. also i have no cat. could that be a problem???

If i were you than i would get a Flowmaster Muffler in a 50 series with the Detla flow technology. Sounds great, nice and quiet until you get on it.

flowmaster??? never heard of that. thought they were strictly domestic. how much does one of those run??? what kind of sound do i get when i gas it??

tip?? why do you have to have a tip?? neways......it is most likely the cat.....my cuz had a 2.5" (no cat) all the way back to a dynomax and it had the rattiest sound i had ever heard in my life......I'm running 2" (no cat) to a tenzo touring stainless you know the crossways design exhaust.. and it has just a lil rat sound not much though....it had none before I took my cat off.....
