Smile 95 Caprice Classic Engine Dies

I own a 1995 Caprice Classic 4.3 L V8 Engine with 130,000 miles which I have no problems for two years.
Car start great, and runs great, however, recently I am having problem with my car.
When engine is at operating temperature and while driving, the engine would just died for no apparent reason, it would start and runs but sometimes, it would dies again and have to wait for few minutes to start it again.
I notice this happens only when the engine is hot.
Could the ignition module or ignition coil cause the engine to die?
Does anybody have experience this kind of problem?
Any input is appreciated.

Has anyone helped you with your Caprice question? I just listed almost the same type of problem and was curious what was the matter with your car.

Read what I posted to RochelleC's post, its one possibility: After the engine heats up, the computer will start actuating the EGR above a certain rpm. The plunger on the EGR gets really hot, and after any lube (if there ever was any) dries out, the valve will "lock-step" its way to wide open. After the engine cools down, the EGR may un-sieze and return to its normal resting position--until the engine heats up again.

Re: 95 Caprice Classic Engine Dies

My EGR would stick and it'd run like crap, but it never stalled.

I'm thinking that there's a vacuum leak

Re: 95 Caprice Classic Engine Dies

I had a problem that was similar with mine, but the electrical system would die out also. Had to replace the connector on the side of the fusebox under the hood. The connector had gotten hot and burnt. Don't know if this will help you, but it is a problem I recently had.

Question stalling/dies

91 caprice
first it only happened while at stop--wouldn't accelerate-would have to idle through light and then it would accelerate just fine.
second - just driving and it would begin not accelerating and stall then died. Would have to wait a minute B4 it would start. When started it would accelerate only up to 40/45mph for a short time B4 dieing again.
(i do not have car here, it is my friends car)
If it is the EGR as the previus post said, how much does it cost? Can yoiu tell me 'what part/parts to buy and about how much and can a non-mechanic fix it?

Re: 95 Caprice Classic Engine Dies

I may be wrong.....
Check your engine block....especially right by the coil/spark module in the front, and see if you have a small coolant leak. Maybe your water pump is goin' like mine did. I developed a tiny trickle that would short out the car, goof up the idle, stutter, sputter, fart, etc. Turned out that the coolant was sowly but surely pooling up on the spark unit, as the car cooled after being shut off for the night. The pump is made of aluminum, and I guess can maybe warp over time? That might explain the gaskets not sealing right?

Rochelle is way off, different problem entirely, Musician has a possible, but I am voting for fuel pump. But then, I do it every day for a living.

OOOPs! After reading again, Rochelle IS talking about a fuel pump. A lot of the OTHER stuff is off-base. Sorry!
