highest compression ration on Pump gas

Ok I have desided on building a B18A and I'm gonna change the pistons (maybe the rods) but I want to know what is the safest and highest compression ration I can run on 91 octane gas. Keep in mind I will be using an full MSD SCI ignition.

is 12:1 to high ?

12:1 is a little high for 91 octane..... but I think it'd me managable...especially with the ignition....umm I think the WRX and the celica GTS both run like 11.5:1 on 91 octacne so you should be alright. That's your call...I think it's a little high but you could pull it off. You might want to get a second opininion though.

full msd sci intiotion thats priceless
MSD IGN really are useless on a honda
the stock one is so much better
Especially if you are going NA

12:1 on a B18 it totally achievable
but you will need a few things
A) HONDATA, Convetr to OBD1 and buy an S100 systen and get it tuned right
B) bigger injectors 12:1 will need fuel 310's are minimum you could just buy 450 dsms and accouont for then in the hondata
C) CAMS you will need bigger cams to take acvantage of the HIGH compression Crower makes ls cams
D) TUNING THE MOST IMPORTANT PART, Get it all together w what i said to use and go have it tuned by a hondata dealer
E) Consider a Vtec head LS head flow like shit and if u have it apart any way slap a B16 head on it
F) FUCK THE NA SHIT and run BOOOOST on the LS add pistons and rods and hondata. inj and turbo and POOF 250+ whp

if u need any help i cmake and sell turbo kits for 4g's and sell hondata

Thats a lil too high of a compression for a celica and wrx man. Anyways i don't know about 91 octane since we run 93 or 94 here. 12:1 is good but any higher u better be running 100 plus.

Its all about tuning and fuel. The new celica is @ 11.5, and so is the matrix. SCC took that engine and put a low boost(6psi) turbo on it. Just depends on your pocket book.

Yes believe or not the new celica GT-s runs 11.5:1 compression completely stock! If you still think I'm wrong look it up. The WRX runs like 11.3:1 or something I can't remember right off you have to run premium grade fuel in both cars or they will knock like hell. BTW the matrix and GT-s engine is the same thing. I say go for it, generally you would like to have lower compression if you're going to turbo it but as long as you're not running much boost then it should be alright. Oh yeah 91 octane?? Must be on the west coast cause we get 93 over here.
