Unhappy transmission problem

ok i have a 94 right and its an automatic. I just bought it knowing that the transmission is broke. (i only paid $1600 so thats ok right?) ok i was wondering if anyone could tell me what the problem is... it doesn't have any drive gears D L 2 but when i put it in park and press the gas instead of revving up it tries to pull like it wants to go. when i put it in reverse it dies. any ideas?

Yeah - your transmissions got problems Anyway, you're going to need it rebuilt or replaced. 1600 for a 94 SL with a broken transmission and, I take it, needing a new front bumper (from your other thread)? I'd say thats a pretty fair deal barring as long as the rest of the body is good and the engine runs strong.

I don't know your location, but heres a few spots to look for

Well One thing get another transmission I have a 97 3000gt auto trans and my tranny went out at 62k miles, it cost me a arm in the leg when i got it fixed I was told the tranny just went out cheap I assume because my tranny is basically brand new now a new one runs like 3600 I got mine fixed for 2400 with a warranty , or you could always go to the junk yard and find one this was very frustrating for me because mine went out 2 thousand miles after warranty and mitsubishi refused to fix it sux heh . And Ive also had problems in the past under warranty with the transmission still refused to fix it , Sad to say mitsubishi doesnt stand behind there product like they should not with me they didnt.

Mitsubishi just did a recall on the transfer case for the manual transmissions. Hopefully, with all the complaints they've gotten (including the better business bureau) they may start doing entire transmission recalls someday.
