After it rains or very damp out the wagon wont start. After several tries over an hour or so it will finaly start. The starter is going but its like no gas getting in. It get to the point where i just keep starter going and it builds up to where it is trying to start and the starter is just spinning right before it starts. This happens only when damp ourt or after a rain. I believe the plugs have been changed (my g/f's car) It took about 2 hours and 5 tries before I finally got it to start. I am surprised I didnt run the batery dead trying to start. Has anyone experienced this?

Re: 89 Taurus Wagon Starting Problem after rain
Had the same exact problem on an 89 I owned. I changed the wires and the d.cap and the problem went away.

Re: 89 Taurus Wagon Starting Problem after rain
On a car with a distributor cap, no- or difficult- starts in damp weather often indicate a crack in the distributor cap. Pull the distributor cap and look for signs of moisture inside the cap. If there's moisture there, replace the cap and probably to rotor too.
